I'm using ArcPad 10. I was having a heck of a time getting some grey scale tif imagery to display despite the same imagery easily displaying in ArcPad 8. After trying a numer of suggestions, I notice that the .tiff dll extension (that must be activated to allow ArcPad to display tiffs) was newer for ArcPad 10 than ArcPad 8.
To experiment I renamed the tiff dll for ArcPad 10 and copied the tiff dll from ArcPad 8 to ArcPad 10. The result of using the older tif dll is that now the imagery does display. It does have some coloured pixels in some areas of the image despite being grey scale.
However, newly produced colour tifs did show up without this .dll change.
The grey scale tif imagery was developed in 1998 while the newer colour imagery was developed around 2010.
Any thoughts on what's going on here?
