ArcPad 10 Camera Slow

I am using ArcPad 10.0 (have not updated to 10.0.3).  I am teaching a class with 20 Juno SB GPS units.  When some students try and take a picture linked to a GIS feature, it takes at least 30 seconds for the camera to open.  Then another long wait to take the picture.  However, the unit I am using responds relatively quickly.  Both are set to use the 'ArcPad Camera', not the 'Windows Camera'.  I can't figure out what the cause for the delay is - I have not found a difference in the units that work correctly and those that have a delay.  I am hesitant to try switching to using the 'Windows Camera' to see if this gives uniformly better performance since you have to rebuild the unit after switching to fix a bug.  Given I have to use the 20 GPS units twice a week, I can't afford that time if I don't know it will fix the problem.  Any ideas out there?

Improving start times for the ArcPad Camera is an issue that has been resolved in ArcPad 10.0.1 (see the latest ArcPad Readme for more information)

Please update your version of ArcPad or try setting the screen to landscape (left-handed) as a temporary workaround.

Updated all 20 Juno SB units with ArcPad 10.0.1.  Still problems with the camera - slow or not working at all.
