I am running ArcEditor 10 SP 2 on my Windows XP desktop. I am trying to run a Trimble GeoXH 2008 series and our new Trimble GeoXH 6000 series on the same computer, with the 2008 running ArcPad 8, and the 6000 running ArcPad10. The Trimble GPS Analyst 2.40 extension is installed but I am having many issues with it.

At first, if I tried to go into the Properties of any .gdb, ArcCatalog would crash, also if I selected "Start GNSS Editing" it would cause ArcMap to crash. Removing the ESRI folder in the Application Data directory and in the HKEY_Current_User did seem to fix the ArcCatalog crash, and I was able to create a GPS enabled .gdb. For the ArcMap problem, once I used the Check In AXF tool in the ArcToolbox first, I was able to "Start GNSS Editing" and be able to edit gps data. The only problem now, is that the Check In tool is not importing any data. It just loops back to the tool window unless you hit Cancel.

If I am able to find a solution I will post it on this thread, has anyone else experienced this issue?

Had the crash problem, (ArcMap 10 w/GPSAnalyst 2.40 must use due to Trimble 6000"s) found out the problem is with service pack 1 & 2. Uninstalled and re installed without service packs and all is well. Tried EVERYTHING else. I know Esri knows this and should advise ??

Also, what are you running ArcGIS on, (windows xp, vista, or 7)?? The only problem we have had is on my desktop which runs XP, the other computer we have running the same ArcGIS software runs Windows 7 and has no problems.

Trimble released an update for GPS Analyst v2.4 that should fix these problems.  Follow these directionst to access the updates:

1) Open ArcGIS
2) Click the dropdown arrow next to GPS Anlayst on the GPS Analyst toolbar
3) Choose check for updates now
4) Download and install the new update

Here's a related issue I'm currently having:

I can't get the Trimble GPS Analyst License Administrator to recognize a server address.  I'm running Windows 7(64bit) / GPSAnalyst v2.4 / ArcMap 10 / Arcpad10.  I can connect to the license server on other machines running XP,  but with Windows 7 I get the following:
"The license server could not be found at the specified address. Please check the address, and check with the server administrator that the license server is operating correctly."
My server address is correct and server is operating correctly.

Anyone encounter this?

Figured it out my issue.  The license server was based GPSAnalayst v2.2.  Updated it to v2.4 and now it works.  Unfortunately, the license administrator is NOT backward compatable, so now our users running ArcGIS 9.3.1 and GPSAnalyst v2.2 can't get a floating license. Always something.
