ArcGIS Desktop locks-up during data Check-Out for ArcPad

Wanted to see if anyone has had this problem, and if so how they went about fixing it. I am currently running ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1 with the ArcPAD extension in order for me to "Check-Out" data to an .AXF file to use in ArcPad on my Trimble Device. I am currently running ArcPAD 10 on the Trimble.

I roughly 6 feature classes from one of my Geodatabases in a separate .MXD that I want to export out to an .AXF file. Out of those (6) feature classes, I only have 2 that I tell to "Check-Out" and the other ones to export out as a background .SHP file.

I have already used the "Configure" tool and when I use the "Get Data for ArcPad" tool I go through the same steps without a problem. Its not until the end that I run the tool that ArcDesktop "Stops Responding" on me. I let it go as long as 15 minutes to see if it was just running to the process, but I have very little data being "converted" to an .AXF format.

Is there a problem with my feature class(s), .MXD file or a step I am doing wrong or not doing in the "Check-Out" process?

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Do you happen to have any Table joins in your MXD at all? That will crash the data manager every time.

Cheers,

Gareth
