Hello,
I have been tasked with finding a few real-time tracking and big data solutions for my company. This is all new territory to me and I am already aware that Velocity/GeoEvent are the best options for our case. However, as I researched I found out that ArcMap also has some kind of real-time tracking capacity. I am certain it differs greatly from the more specialised products I mentioned before, but I am interested to know in what way. I haven't been able to find much information on it.
Is Map's tracking service limited to only a certain amount of assets? Does it only serve as an observation tool, or can it actually support more complex services like barcode traceability and alerts?
It is also interesting to me that I found no information on GPS real-time tracking using ArcGIS Pro - only Maps, Velocity and GeoEvent. Is it indeed so that Pro does not support this service?
Thank you for your time.
never used it
Collect data in the field from your GNSS device with ArcGIS Pro (esri.com)
Thank you again for the help, Dan. I have come across this article, but it seems to offer only the possibility of tracking a single device - not a fleet of vehicles, for example. It is interesting that this is an ArcMap feature but is not present in Pro.
ArcGIS Field Maps | Field Apps & Mobile Data Collection (esri.com) maybe, with Enterprise... contacting your regional rep would probably be the simplest
