How to create an add-in for application builder

I am a newcomer, and I thought that once I had the Visual Studio Template for arGIS viewer installed then I would be able figure out how to create an add-in for application builder. But here's my problem:

I have found some interactive samples I would like to try out http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/silverlight-viewer/samples/start.html

But when I need to copy the C# code and the *.aml code into the template, I cant figure out where paste it unfortunately. Which files of the templates-solution to edit when I just want to create a simple add-in using sample code from the link above. I cant seem to find much information on how to create an add-in from scratch for beginners. Any links to tutorials would also be very helpful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Hi Mette,

The easiest thing to do with the Interactive Samples is to download them and then open them in Visual Studio instead of trying to copy the code into an existing template. You'll notice that each of the samples uses the template, so you'll still be able to get a feel for how the template works.
