Viewer turning grey when changing extent

When in a certain application, every time I try to change the extent in the viewer, the entire window turns grey.  If I try to close the window it will ask me if I want to save or discard.  Screenshot attached.

Any ideas?

Hi Ricky,

At the moment I do not have any idea what may be the root cause, but can you try doing the same without internet connection(off wifi and unplug LAN) and see if the same behavior happens?

It may provide some insights...
