Popup won't work on group layers

Hello,

I am using the compiled Flex viewer 2.4. When I put layers in my map document into a Group Layer, I can no longer get the built in info Popup function to work. I change the sublayer id number accordingly in my main config.xml, but when I click on the layer in the website no popup appears. If I move the layer back out of the Group Layer in the map document, and change the sublayer id accordingly, then the popup functionality works.

Can anyone tell me if this is working as designed? Do the popups not work on Group Layers, or is there a way around this?

Can you try this in 3.0 Prerelease?

Hi Dasa,

Unfortunately we don't have the time to migrate to the 3.0 pre release right now. Additionally we are using secured services and Robert's enhanced search widget, and so far I can only get the enhanced search widget to work with a secured service in version 2.4.

Are you also setting visiblelayers?

   I am curious about you not being able to use secured service in 2.5. As you know I don't use secure services but I wonder if maybe you can provide a dummy public map service that is secured that you would be willing to allow me to use to get this working for you?

Hi Robert,

In 2.4 I can simply set 'useproxy' to true and then the search widget will work with the secured service. If I set it to true in 2.5 for some reason it won't work. Thanks for being willing to look into this some. I will try and get a generic secured service for you to check out, however I am about to go out on maternity leave very soon so it may not happen!

Hi Dasa,

I was not using the visiblelayers tag. I have implemented it and the popups are now working. This did change the order of things in my "More" section, but its not something we can't work with. Thanks for the help.

Last week I demo-ed this site for my client and all the pop-ups worked great. Today I was making a few slight changes to the fields that are visible in the pop-up and now all the sudden the pop-ups will not work for those layers that are not listed as visible layers. I don't know why/how this could have changed from one day to the next. Do you have a suggest on something else I should try to fix this issue? I don't want to add all the layers as visible layers, because I don't want them all on by default.
