Could someone help me understand the need for min and max instances when publishing services?

We only have one dedicated GIS Server - but we have quite a few users who will be accessing the data at any given time.

Currently we have min set at 2 and max 10 - but it seems that as the day goes on - we experience a major lag time from our users with data on various layers not drawing at all.

Should we be publishing our services with a max of closer to the number of total users we have?

Thanks in advance.

We will need more info. to really help you out. The hardware that the server sits on is important for this question, along with many other things that could cause users to be having these issues. I think this is more of a question for the ArcGIS Server forum as well.

If your service or app is public, then linking to your app could also help us troubleshoot your slowness with the services issue.

Unfortunately our maps are not public as the data included is not meant for public distribution or viewing.

As for our server stats please see the added image.

I will also start a thread over on the server forums for further discussion.

Thanks for your reply.
