The Locator widget's configuration file will no longer reference a hardcoded URL. Starting with 3.6, it will automatically set the locator based on what is specified for the portal/organization.

Can somebody explain this?  I use my own address locator, does this mean I will be forced to use the esri services or am I just misreading this.  I have an organization account but only includes myself that came with my maintenance agreement.  I'm not exactly sure where this setting is set.  I want to be sure I understand this before I attempt to upgrade from 3.4 to 3.6.

Josh,

What this really means is that the Flex team has decided to not hard code a URL to one of esri servers into the LocateWidget.xml. You still have ability to do so. All the locator widget tag are still available for your to set yourself.

Thanks Robert.  That threw up a red flag for me and it wasn't immediately apparent what it meant.  So I should have interpreted hard coded as something that was packaged with the Viewer and since the Viewer is configurable it can be changed.  Unfortunately,  the accuracy of Esri's locator service is not the greatest in my area and I want to constantly be able to improve my street ranges so my initial understanding of this would have caused a no-go for the upgrade.  Thanks for clearing that up.
