is there any chance to retrieving metadata of serviced layers

I need to build widget that can retrieve the metadata of the layers that already serviced on the server, or perhaps modified the legend widget so the widget can display the metadata and the legend in the same time

   Are you talking about real metadata (like the metadata editor in ArcMap) or just info like description and copyright and basic stuff that you get from ArcGIS Server in the rest service directory? If you are wanting the description and copyright then you can use the eLayerList Widget http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=58d9bb5693c94918a3934781d7234d18‌ It has a description option in the dropdown menu for layers in the toc that returns this type of info.
