Help Documentation for Thematic Query Widget Sample

Has anyone found detailed help documentation for ESRI's Thematic Query Widget located in the Samples folder of the Flex Viewer? I'd love to use this, but really need some guidelines to understand how to set up the XML file.

There is no documentation for the samples.
