Flex sdk 4.1 - now sites won't display

I tried to get fancy and downloaded flex sdk 4.1 and used it to compile my projects. Now, the site opens, but no data, no widgets, no tools, etc display. The hourglass hangs. I have reverted back to flex sdk 3.5, but the same symtoms occur. Nothing is showing up in the flex error log either.
Anyone experience this and know how to fix?

I was able to figure this out - finally.
I had not upgraded the ArcGIS API for flex from 1.X to 2.X
Upgrading fixed the problem...although beware not to upgrade the flex sdk to 4.X before upgrading the ArcGIS API. It caused a lot of problems and if not upgrading to ArcGIS API 2.X, I would not recommend it.
