Extract Data tool

Hello all,

Is there a plugin for ArcGIS viewer for Flex to extract data from the application in shapefile or feature class format? For example, I want a tool through which the client can select features in a map service in the app, and then he can download the data in a shapefile or feature class format. Any idea?

Thanks for the reply Rhett, I want a generic plugin that does not need to publish a geoprocessing service, and each time I want to add a layer I should re-calibrate the geoprocessing tool to include the new layer, I want the tool to recognize the selected layers itself and extract them. Sorry, maybe this was not clear in my post.
