Can you sort the results in the eSearch widget? Sometimes a search will return 50 or 100 results, and I'm wondering if I can apply sorting to the results to help the user find what they are looking for faster. I might be blind, but I didn't noticed a mention of it in the instructions.

Nicholas,

You can sort. In page 4 of the Enhanced Search Widget XML Configuration pdf you will find:

<field name="ZONING_NAME" alias="Zoning Name" sort="asc|1|string"/>

I applied that XML and sorting works for results shown in the datagrid. I see that there is no sorting available for the regular results box. Is that something that be added as a feature request?

Nicholas,

   I will probably not be adding that as it would interfere with existing widget features, such as the maintaing of the order features are chosen in using the add to selection option.

Nicholas,

You probably already know, but if you haven't noticed, along with the initial sort defined in the xml, you can also click on the column heading in either data grid and it will sort on that field.  Click again, it will sort in opposite order.
