Enhanced Search Widget - Searching Multiple Fields

Hi Robert,

I decided to start a new thread as you answered the question I was having  before. But now I need to start working on my own service and I need to ask you something about searching multiple fields. In the case of my website (see link below) I want the user to be able to search one field or many fields at the same time. So if the user decides to search all fields - Company (text input), county (dropdown), primary business (dropdown), major product (dropdown) and major species (dropdown), or just two or three of these fields, how can I change that on the xml or do I need to change the code on the mxml also?

I don't want to hijack a thread but I have a tiny question about searching multiple fields.  I noticed that you can't hit the enter key to run the search when you have multiple search fields, but you can any other time.  Is there a remedy for this?  Or maybe I'm making some dumb mistake?

I know I'm going to get some complaint calls over this even though it's such a small thing.  🙂

Eric,

   No the enter key event listener was removed for multi field searches as there are now more than one input object that would need to listen for the event and then check if all inputs are valid, so I just removed it.

I am not sure it is the same question that Eric had, but I notice that for some of the layers, if I click choose a layer field and accept the default choice,   I can click on "Search" but if I click, on another option inside the dropdown menu, it automatically searches the records for me without giving me the choice on clicking on the Search Button. Is it possible to change that?

   No t sure why you would want to but sure you have the source code so you can change anything you want.
