When updating a Survey123 Connect form, the contents of the choices list do not update the hosted feature layer. The survey form has already been published previously. Subsequently the client requested changes to the choices list and therefore the choices list was amended in the Survey123 Connect form. When creating a gauge within ArcGIS Dashboard, the updated choices list from Survey123 is not available.

Hi @Sulettevan_der_Merwe @DougBrowning,

Just wanted to let you know with the upcoming 3.16 October Release of Survey123 we have made improvements to the Connect publishing workflow with regards to domains and choice lists. You can check out the latest announcement, documentation and test out the latest 3.16 beta builds via the Early Adopter Community to get early access to these builds and the new Connect publishing workflows. You feedback on these improvements would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Phil.

Hi Sulette,

Yes, this is a limitation with Survey123 Connect - additional values are not appended to the list of choices.  You can add them via the Item Details page of the Feature Layer by selecting the 'Data' tab and then the 'Fields' view.  See Define attribute lists and ranges—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation for more information.

Good day James,

Thank you for your email.

I had a look at the way you suggested I must make changes to the choice

list.

I moved some of the items within the choice list around in the Data Field

of the Feature Layer.

When I had a look at the Dashboard, the changes were reflected there.

However, the Survey123 Form was not updated.

This implies that the survey form is now out of sync with the data in the

back office.

This now creates some other problems.

Any other suggestions?

I included Pieter van Jaarsveld from Esri South Africa on this email.

Regards,

Sulette

Good day Doug and James

Thank you for the update.

I have upvoted those requests you suggested.

However, I got hold of an older excel survey form.

I used that as a template and was able to create a survey, a map and then

to create a new dashboard.

I updated the excel template with a new item under the choices list.

The survey was then republished and the newly added choice list item was

used when completing the survey.

The newly added choice item reflected in the map as well as in the

dashboard.

It looks like the excel spreadsheet form might be the obstacle in this

whole process.

Your ideas on this?

Thanks,

Sulette

It is working because you started a brand new form and service.  It will properly make the domains on the first publish.  But if you add another choice now and push those changes the new choice will not show up in the domains.

Hope this one will get fixed soon as it has been a number of years now.
