survey123 non default values

I have a survey with several calculate values based on a previous answer.  When the answer is left blank survey123 will auto populate the calculated fields with information for the first option in the selection list, can I stop it from doing that?  I have set a default value that prevents this from happening, but then when I select a non-default value from the available list of values the text has strikethrough which I am not keen on, can I turn that off?

Thanks,

Beth

Hi Beth,

This thread would likely get more support if it were placed in the https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123?sr=search&searchId=12a6dec7-759b-4bfa-809e-0f4d590decd1&...‌ group. The GeoNet Help is for help with the GeoNet.

Hi Beth, can you share your XLS file?  Whatever your calculation is, it sounds like some of it can succeed with an empty value on the previous question - you may want to wrap the calculation in an if function to check if the value is valid before calculating (returning an empty string if not valid).
