Is it possible to configure the Survey123 field app to have logging enabled by default within the diagnostics menu within Settings?

Sometimes the app will crash/close with no warning when someone is in the field, and it would be very helpful to have them send us the log information when this happens. However, we don't want to have to expect them to have to remember to turn on logging every time they use the application.

Sorry @Katie_Clark  It is not possible to automatically activate logging. It needs to be done manually.

Thanks for the response, @IsmaelChivite .

Do you know if this functionality has been requested before and/or considered by the design team? I'm happy to start an "Idea" post for it if there isn't one already?

Best,
Katie

Do you really have to enable it every time you open the app? I have been working with some users who have been having the app 'close unexpectedly' and I turned on logging for them, but when they tried to send me the log after a crash yesterday there was nothing to send. This would explain it.

I wonder why it is not possible to have a constant log stream like Field Maps. This is unfortunate, I might have to scrap my workflow and start over if I can't figure out why the app is crashing. It is difficult when you working with users that are not that comfortable using their smartphone.
