survey user confusion

It is impossible for user to tell which answers they've selected.  The checkbox disappears.

It would also be helpful:

• a screenshot or screen recording showing the behavior
• the question type being used (for example, multiple choice, single choice, etc.)
• using Survey123 Web or the mobile app?

Any additional details or screenshots would help us better understand and investigate the issue.

In the screenshot, the first three items in the question have been selected.  I think what I want is to have the ability to format the selection boxes that precede each question.  The boxes are the same for all the questions.   Thank you very much!  https://arcg.is/1GWLvn1
