Hi All,

I am curious how long a survey that is held on a device outside internet/WIFI range can be stored for if there were an expiration date of sorts? Most posts say when they get back to internet/cell range the stored surveys will automatically send but I am curious of how long the 'when' is constrained to if at all?

Context; field workers regularly enter areas or buildings with no cell or internet service for extended periods of time and make daily use of offline mode in Survey123 at Latest Update mode on for all devices. Survey from desktop app builder, not Survey123-Connect.

Keeping this one quick and easy, trying to help field workers.

Thanks all,

Hello @GIS_Fox

Surveys in any of the Survey123 boxes are stored within Survey123's internal database and has no expiration time, surveys can reside in this database for as long as you like and can be submitted at a later date. The only things to keep in mind are:

- Make sure the feature service schema does not change, when Survey123 goes to submit the data if the schema has changed and fields that existed before no longer exist then an error will be returned and require manual extraction of the data.

- Make sure the Survey123 app is not deleted from the device. If the Survey123 app is deleted the database will also be deleted and the data will be lost.

Thank you,
Zach

Hello @ZacharySutherby

Thank you very much for the detailed response. This is excellent, I will make sure to keep in mind the notes about schema and the internal database.

Best regards,

Hi @ZacharySutherby

Is the Inbox/Send folder retained if the user signs out and signs back in again? Trying to troubleshoot an error with sending but don't want the team to lose their surveys.

Thanks!
