Hello! I am building a map that integrates data collected in Survey123. I want to limit what data from the survey is shared when users click on a data point but I cannot find where I can set those limits. Would it be in Survey123 or ArcMap? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello @LaineySH ,

Great question.

I like to think of Survey123 as "where the data is collected" and then the other tools, likely ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Pro, would be "where you control data visibility" in this case.

There's a couple of options depending on whether you would want to give this a go in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS Online

If you're working in ArcGIS Online, it's possible to configure the pop-up when you're creating your Web Map.

  • Open the Map Viewer.
  • Navigate to, and open, the layer containing your Survey123 data.
  • Navigate to Configure Pop-up.
  • Within this option you can, hide specific fields, reorder fields, rename fields, use custom expressions to show derived or summarised data or indeed turn off the pop-up entirely.

ArcGIS Pro

It's also possible to do this within ArcGIS Pro.

  • Navigate to and Open the Content's Pane.
  • Choose your Survey123 layer.
  • Right click and choose Pop-up configuration.

Layer Views

Alternatively, you could create Layer Views that exclude sensitive fields entirely.

Hope this helps!
