Changing how Survey 123 sends data to feature layer table in AGO

Hello,

I'm not sure I am able to explain this correctly, but I'll give it my best shot. I have an old Excel dataset that did not come from Survey 123 or AGO. It was collected via paper forms and manually entered into Excel. It is a habitat study, and each different type of habitat was classified as being present by entering a "1" or not present by entering a "0". So, 1=present and 0=absent. Therefore, each column was a single habitat type (e.g. seagrass) and that entry either had a 1 or a 0 entered for presence/absence.

We migrated all of the data collection to Survey 123 which has been fantastic. However, in the AGO table generated in the feature layer from my Survey 123 form, the habitat presence/absence form is not formatted the same way. In Survey 123 this section is just a multiple selection list which the user can select multiple habitat types for what is present. In the data table on the feature layer, each selected habitat is listed in this column with a comma separating each selection.

Is there any way to get the data table to display each habitat type as its own column with either a "1" or a "0" in it for that entry depending on which habitats were selected. Unfortunately, I am being told that I do not have permission to add photos so I can't add any to clarify what I am talking about. Thank you in advance for the help.

Just create a new hosted feature layer that has the field that you want to match the survey. Then Enter the new hosted feature URL in the settings sheet under the submission URL column. This will send the survey submission data directly to the new hosted feature. Just need to republish survey and it will tell you as much when you do. See attached, hope that helps.

Yes. You need a calculate for each column. Here is an example:
