Hello everyone!

I noticed this morning that the "Get started" button disappears sometimes - I can get it to reappear if I refresh the browser.

It is happening with all of our Collections, but here is an example of one that I see the issue on: https://arcg.is/0LTveT

Here is a video of what we are seeing! We first saw it on a mobile version, but I can replicate it on a desktop view as well. I'm curious if anyone else is seeing this issue!

Hi @SaraJL - This is expected. The intent of that button is to provide an obvious place for readers to click when they first land on the collection. After they view one or more items and come back to the overview page, the button is hidden because they are no longer "getting started" -- they have already started viewing the collection. The button is hidden to clean up the overview page to focus on the content.

Have you heard from readers about this causing some confusion?

If you do not want that button to appear at all, you can completely get rid of it in Collection settings by checking "Hide overview page elements."

@OwenGeo that makes sense!

Yes, I had 2 reports from users that were inquiring about it recently. We use the Collections a lot for virtual exhibits (we just set up for a Spanish language event today!) - both the professor asked me about it and one of the technology specialists that I was working with.

The Collections are set up on an iPad with guided access enabled, so it keeps a visitor locked to specific websites (ie. the Collection) and won't accidentally navigate somewhere else. If a new visitor was looking at the Collection, they might want to start at the beginning, so there was a little confusion on where the button went.

Definitely not the end of the world! Just curiousity more than anything, I think.

I hope that makes sense!
