trouble enabling extensions

I am having trouble enabling some extension (Geostatistical Analyst and Spatial Analyst). I've re-installed software now, I've authorized the software, including the extensions. I've gone into ArcMap to enable the extensions through Customize. But I'm not able to enable them (see attached images). I think it may have something to do with the extensions having previously expired, but not sure. Does anyone know how to activate and enable these extensions?

were they trial versions? or were your licenses issued by some organization?

Once they are expired, they need to be reissued.  

If you think the problem is an error, you should contact tech support and discuss with them.
