Raster merge and interpolation/smoothing

Hello all,

I would like to merge two precipitation rasters that do not overlap.  I have one degree area between the two grids that I am missing.  I would like to merge these grids and have missing area be interpolated in order to have a smooth transition between the grids. Is there a good tool to do this? I appreciate your help!

You could try Mosaic to New Raster and afterwards do Interpolation with the Focal Statistic Tool. But 1 degree is a pretty huge gap.

one degree is 111 km at the equator, do not interpolate to fill the gap, the results will be meaningless
