Max Raster Size

Am looking to get a bit of technical information.  I am attempting to create a rather large raster (grid) of about 230+ GB.  Does anyone know the max theoretical size limits of a raster?

Dan,
  I've had success creating an 80+ GB rasters.  Today, I will be trying to merge a 200 GB with a 30+ GB rasters.  I ask the question only because my co-workers have tried before, but have not had success.  My fear is that I am either maxing out the limits of ESRI or an error with Windows.  We shall see.
