I am working with a data set of 3D points and have created kernel densities from a plan view above and would like to do the same from the side. These are fish in a body of water so the side view density would show a depth distribution. So I dont want a vertical slice but a density of the entire cloud from the side. Is there a way to do this or if not a way to trick Arc by giving it new calculated XY for the side view from the 3D data?
