I've been playing around with the ancient (2000) LiDAR data from the BOR for the Yakima Basin. There is a directory of ascii files called Bare_Earth_LiDAR named ysht*.txt where * is numbers from 01 to 912. These bare earth files have worked well in constructing some bare earth terrains. Then there is this directory of ascii files called Raw_Lidar which contains all the hits from 1st returns to bare earth named ysht*.txt where * is 01 - 912. How do I separate highest hit data out of these raw LiDAR ASCII files?
