I realise this tool is very temperamental and I've exhausted all other threads relating to this crash but to no avail. This should be a very simple operation.

I have a 15x18 1000 cellsize raster, overlain by a 70x70 250 cellszie polygon grid. I am attempting to assign each polygon grid the majority value of the underlying raster. Zone field is in string form Z1, Z2, Z3...Zn and is unique to each zone, as well as unique OBJECTID*. The raster only has 3 different values. The layer is projected in OSGB 1936. Both are contained in the same geodatabase with filenames less than 9 characters and no spaces. The Ignore NoData option is checked.

The process does not even reach 0% before throwing a "serious application error" and closing. I have tried the majority of solutions suggested on other threads. I'm tearing my hair out with this one!

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Hi Josh,

I would like to investigate this issue and try to find a possible workaround for you if this turn out to be a bug. I am wondering if you could help me. What I would like to get from you is your sample data. If you are able to do so, can you please email me at pyadav at esri.com with the data? If the data is big for an email attachment, I will send you instructions to upload your data on our FTP site. I don??t want to frustrate you any more with suggestions that might not work. As a workaround, using a zone field that is a number might make the tool run then you would need to join the original table back to your output to remap the fields. I was also wondering if you try grids instead of fgdb rasters. My primary goal is to help you and report the issue to our Product Engineers if this is indeed a bug. Thank you for your help in advance.

Regards,
Pavan
