I think it would be helpful for governments to have an ArcGIS Solution that is customized for managing data about Historic Resources (also sometimes called Cultural Resources).
Local government planning and historic preservation offices across the US collect and manage data about historic resources such as buildings, sites, and districts. Historic resources GIS data and photographs are typically collected in the field and often shared online through public data portals as part of heritage tourism programs.
This solution would be similar to those for managing data about real property, bridges, and cemeteries, but would be customized to meet the historic preservation data standards set by federal, state and local governments, as well as international heritage organizations.
I would be interested in partnering with the ArcGIS Solutions team to develop an ArcGIS Solution for Historic Resources data management which includes integration of Field Maps. I have 15+ years of experience developing Historic Resources GIS databases and applications with ArcGIS and other GIS systems. 🤙
We'll discuss this idea with other internal / external stakeholders and discuss the value it might provide in a future ArcGIS Solutions release.
