For my thesis project I am going to be sampling along 100 m transect lines and I need the transects to be randomly placed within my study area. I know how to create random points constrained by a polygon layer in ArcMap, but I don't know how to generate pairs of points separated by a specified distance. Anyone know how to do this, or perhaps know of another tool I should be using instead?
