I have a quick question.
If we have Desktop 10.1 and wish to use offline maps. We do not wish to have the server, are we still able to use the WPF runtime SDK to display the maps on our application?
Is the server really necessary?
I read the documentation but it is still not very clear if we can do away with the server.

Thanks

Hi,
Technical vise there is no need for server. Just create map packages via ArcMap and use them in your application.

From licensing point of view, follow http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/runtime-wpf/concepts/index.html#/Licensing_applications/01700000....

Hi,

Please see the documentation on "local" data sources: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/runtime-wpf/concepts/index.html#//01700000005v000000.

You can solely online services, just local data/packages or you can use a hybrid of both - it's entirely up to you.

Cheers

Mike
