Offline Map Cache creation

I'm working on an app that will not be able to connect to the ArcGIS servers depending on the user's location. I'm trying to use a map cache and have found the Custom Tiled Layer demo and the Online-Offline Editing sample. These are great for how to use the cache, but I haven't found any guides on how to create a cache.

Does anyone have a step by step guide on how to accomplish this.

You can create the cache from ArcGIS Server as described in the link posted earlier.

Now, there is new layer AGSLocalTiledLayer is added to the SDK which supports tile packages created by ArcGIS Desktop 10.1. Please see detail documentation here...
