We've succeeded in publishing a mobile service, visible to iPad using the ESRI app.
I just displays the basemap and operational layers.

How do I add a command to the Wrench icon in the upper right corner?
How do I set the focus layer for Searches?
How do I add Predefined Searches?

Is there a document out there for all this?
Is there any information on JSON syntax beyond the maps.pdf document example?

Hi Rick,
The ArcGIS Application for iOS, does not provide you set of tools to add or remove from the "Map Tools".  However, it is strongly encouraged to post this idea on the Ideas portal.

For pre-defined searches, here is the workflow:
From ArcGIS Explorer Online, create a query using this help document:
http://explorer.arcgis.com/help/basics_query.htm
Once you have created the query layer with the map, from the ArcGIS Application for iOS, "Find Maps" and open the web map that you just saved with a predefined search. Then clicking on the search tab at the bottom, you should see your predefined search listed there.

You can probably make that search generic enough to be specific to a layer and all the (significant) fields.
Hope this helps!

gvyas,

Someone has figured it out, as the Find Maps->Gallery->Collection Samples has many samples with Collect option on the Tool.

As for the Query, I've tried to follow the instructions, even the YouTube video. I just get "Unable to perform query. Check syntax and try again" no matter what I enter. I've tried different layers to make sure.
