HELP,
I am trying to implement using the ipad at our office for field workers.  It seems anytime we edit a map on the ipad it cant be viewed on the computer on arcgis online.  Also, if we edit a map on the computer, it can not be viewed on the ipad.  I am getting the error:

MAP NOTIFICATION - THIS MAP CONTAINS ENHANCED WEB MAP ELEMENTS THAT ARE NOT YET ACCESSIBLE IN THIS APPLICATION.

Is there another update coming soon?  Is this something I am receiving in error?  Any ideas?

Emagee,

The reason you get that warning is that your web map may contain elements such as bookmarks, slide shows, etc that are not honored by the ArcGIS app for iOS. Most of these elements are specific to ArcGIS Explorer Online.

Having said that, you should be able to work with the web map even after receiving that warning. The ArcGIS app for iOS will ignore the elements it does not support, and let you work with the layers, tasks, etc in the web map.

What version of the app are you using? And what happens after you receive that warning? Does the app stop responding?

Technobrat,
Thanks for the response.  I am merely trying to edit a map in the field and have those changes saved.  We try to add a simple polygon.  We can view the map fine, but when trying to add points or polygons on the ipad, they are not saved to our server.  Also, when the changes are made to the file on the server, they are not viewable on the ipad and we recieve that error message.

Is there a list of elements Ios will not support? Could there be a problem with our server to Ios connection?

This software has marvelous potential, but I think it will take time to get it to work properly. I am afraid this will make us seek other solutions.

Hellooo,
Can anyone help with this?  Its nice to view maps on my iphone or ipad, but if we cant edit or save edits, this software is useless.  I might as well print out a map and take it with me.  All I want to do is add data in the field and have the edits viewable on the server.  Is this possible?  Can anyone help?

When will these elements be availalbe to the ios?

Emagee,

You should be able to edit the data from ArcGIS for iOS application and view edits on the server. The only not supported elements are bookmarks, slide shows, etc.

Does your web map created on ArcGIS.com or internal ArcGIS Content Server?
Is it contain bookmarks, slide shows etc?

Regards,
Nimesh

Same problem here.  I created a very simple map on arcgis online with two editable layers, gave it a name, and saved it to my esri worldwide account.  When I try to view on the iphone app, I can't see my data layers - only the base map appears.  Are the editable layers not supported by the app?

Hi Nimesh, thanks for responding.  Actually I already heard from Jeff Shaner by email, and I guess the problem is that I was using the "map notes" feature.  At this time that is not supported in the mobile app, but he implied that an update to the app later this month would support map notes.
