Dear esri, our current program uses mapView and sketchEditor to draw geometry. We are developing for sceneView, but sketchEditor cannot be used in sceneView. We do not want to develop new tools to replace sketchEditor, which will lead to inconsistent use style. Dear esri, do you have plans to adapt sceneView and sketchEditor in your subsequent updates?
Hi @tanqidi ,
This possibility has been discussed, but we don’t have any immediate plans. Would you be willing to send me a direct message with your company name and any details of your project? This will help us better prioritize this functionality.
Regards,
Shelly
Dear esri, we are from China Railway Sichuan Survey And Design Group. With the progress of the times and the construction of larger infrastructure, large factories, railway stations, and large hydropower facilities have been gradually using drone equipment to scan the complete three-dimensional model of the region
Sometimes we want to collect the information of a certain point. Although we know the location of the point on a few pictures and maps, it is not obvious from a three-dimensional perspective. If we use the sceneView to draw the geometry at this moment, plus the screenshot of a certain angle of the current 3D model camera, we can clearly know the location.
MapView can satisfy our investigation work in villages, forests, Gobi, and along the railway. However, for large-scale industrial infrastructure, we want to use sceneView, and both of them need to use the sketchEditor drawing graphics function.
Thanks for the information @tanqidi. We're not actively working on this, but it's something that has been mentioned by a number of users, and we'll use your comments to contibute to our planning process for future releases.
