First time in ArcGIS Pro. I added a map service - tried both from AGOL and connecting straight to my ArcGIS Server (10.2.1). The top level of the map service shows a lighter gray checkmark next to it and none of the layers are visible at the scales I've got them set to draw in the map service.
When I open up the layer properties, the visibility range has In beyond and Out beyond both set to 1:4,622,324 (which I definitely don't have set in my map service - I can see it in the regular arcgis.com viewer, and in arcgis desktop just fine).
The one thing that may be odd about this map service is that all the layers are defaulted to unchecked to start because it shows all our facility and the user in other apps has to pick which group they want to view rather than have them all draw from the start.
Any ideas?
I tried another map service that seems to display just fine from the same server.
OK I've pinged the appropriate team and we have some theories.
Also, be aware this may be one of many issues the Pro team fixed in recent builds - meaning you won't have the fixes in the current prerelease builds.
If I can carve out some time I will try publishing my own service matching your values and see if I can reproduce the problem.
Also, I should mention that the service used to load in one of the early beta releases of ArcGIS Pro when the backend server was version 10.11 and it was not secured. The backend was upgraded to 10.22 and SSL was enabled (now uses https). I read on the release notes that encrypted services may not load properly so I never reported it. But, the strange part is that I tried this shortly after the Prerelease Update 1 came out and it was working for a couple of hours after changing the view scales. I was happily working away when all of a sudden, the imagery just disappeared while panning and did not come back. I asked our 3rd party imagery provider if they changed something or updated the server and they replied that they had not changed anything for a couple of weeks.
