I cannot close any projects (old or newly created) or shut down ArcGIS Pro without using task manager and forcing a shut down. I have projects saved on a server and on C drive, same thing occurs in both. Today, IT uninstalled and re installed Arcgis Pro, NO FIX. PLEASE HELP.
I have Arcgis pro version 3.6.0
Also, I'm having problems with saving edits, Error box: Save edits failed. Error stopping an edit session with discard edits. Esri reference says, "While this error can occur, it occurs so rarely that the typical causes have not been identified so no solution is available at this time." LOL
both these problems started at the same time.
Hey @AnissaHiggins
Since you mentioned that IT has already uninstalled and reinstalled, that was going to be one of my suggestion, consider a soft reset as well here:
https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-perform-an-arcgis-pro-soft-reset-000027631
Also, did this happen with 3.5 versions? If not, I would recommend going back to a 3.5 version and submitting an Esri bug ticket as well so they can keep this on their radar!

@AnissaHiggins did the people doing the uninstall/reinstall follow the recommendations in this document?
How To: Perform a Clean Uninstall and Reinstall of ArcGIS Pro
I had quite a few occurrences of Pro 3.5.x hard crashing after saving (with success) and then trying to close the app.
This was on a pretty new install on a new machine with new user accounts so I think we/Esri should start looking deeper than just saying "do a reinstall/reset/etc" to people in distress.
Subjectively it felt as if it is more likely to do something weird the longer you had an instance open.
@AnissaHiggins What version of .Net 8 is installed? There's been a quite a few updates recently and I saw 8.22 is now the current version.
I've not seen this issue with 3.6 yet but I have been subconsciously persuaded to restart Pro frequently to avoid the slow-downs and other issues that raise their head after a while.
Somewhere else in this font of knowledge there is mention of applying updates manually and not using the auto-update method (download them from My Esri). Can't say it has made any difference to me but I am trying everything Esri staff recommend to get a good experience with Pro.
