Hi,

I'm having a problem when creating layers with zip codes.  Some of my zip codes are showing up in the wrong states.  I have made sure to format my zips as text.  I'm not sure what to do to correct this.  It is throwing my data off.

Hi Dan,

The should all be in Texas and originally I thought they may be PO Box zips, but they are showing up all over the place with demographic info attached. Below are a few examples. Thank you for your help.

Zip

Should be:

Showing up:

77993

Goliad County TX

Indiana

78342

Jim Wells County TX

Tennessee

78144

Karnes County TX

North Carolina

78333

Jim Wells County TX

Pennsylvania

How are you creating your "layers with zip codes," i.e., what steps are you taking to generate the layer.

Hi Joshua, I created a table with the zip codes, formatted them to text, and added the data.

There has to be more to it than that because loading a TXT or CSV with zip codes in it simply creates a table in Pro.  I assume you geocoded those zip codes in the table after adding them.  What tools and arguments did you use to geocode?

I used the Geocode Address tool in Pro to geocode a handful of zip codes, including a couple you listed.  The locations all showed up in the right place.
