Why am I getting an unsupported data type error when I attempt to load an .xlsx in ArcPro?

I can't figure this out for the life of me so I figured I'd ask.

I can not add a specific excel workbook to a map in ArcGIS Pro.

This is the first time I've experienced this error.

The type of excel file doesn't seem to matter. None will produce a file type that Arc Pro wants to use.

Other excel files and dbf's can be added to the map.

What is going on with this particular file that it can't be added?

I assume you have read... Work with Microsoft Excel files in ArcGIS Pro—Excel | ArcGIS Desktop

I would try Excel To Table—Conversion toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop

to see if that works since it is usually pretty good at weeding out bad excel files.

Excel to Table fixed the issue.

I totally tunnel-visioned and forgot that tool existed.

Thanks for the response.
