When selecting features with Select by Rectangle the Attributes pane shows no items even thought they show to be selected in Attribute Table?

When I am selecting features with the Select by Rectangle pointer the items appear to be selected in the attribute table but not in the attribute window. I have tried clearing my selection and using the attribute table to make my selection but I am faced with the same issue. These layers have been imported from CAD and it seems to be hit or miss on when I am able to select or not. For example, 10 mins ago I was able to successfully select all of the feature pictured below and now I cannot
