When performing terrain modifications by adjusting the Z-values of vertices in polygons or polylines, it is often necessary to interpolate the elevation values for intermediate vertices. In such cases, the recommended approach is to apply linear interpolation between known vertex elevations. This ensures a smooth and consistent gradient across the terrain surface, maintaining topographic accuracy and visual continuity. Implementing this method enhances the precision of elevation modeling, particularly in applications involving digital terrain models (DTMs) or 3D surface generation.
