I am trying to turn off wrapping for my callout labels so they all sit on one line (see screenshot below). I know where this setting is for layout items, and I'm sure I've done this before in a map, but know I can't find the setting for the life of me. Does anyone know how to do it?

Dear David,

Please follow this,

Please Select the desired feature layer in Content Pane
Click on Labeling Tab
Label Class Group - Select the appropriate Class
Click Expression
In the Label Class Pane
Click Symbol
Expand Callout
Select Composite
Expand Background symbol and select Format Polygon Symbol
In the Layer tab of the Format Embedded Polygon Symbol
Scroll down and expand Marker Placement
Expand Placement and modify it as you want

Hope it helps,

If need more info please let me know

Best Wishes

Hi Amir,

Thanks so much for replying to my question. I managed to follow you almost to the end, but I got lost at the third last line. I think I'm in the layer tab of the format embedded polygon symbol (see screenshot below), but I can't see anything allowing me to expand marker placement. Do you know what I've done wrong?

Dear David,

Sorry I forgot a simple step in the middle,

please follow the images in the attachments,

You should add a Marker layer and eliminate the other two.

Hope it helps,

Best regards

To prevent text wrapping of your map labels, turn off stacking in the Maplex label placement settings.

From the Label Class pane, click the Fitting strategies tab and expand Stack:

Un-check Stack label to prevent the labels from text wrapping so each of your labels draw on one line.

This was what I was looking for and making me not want to use Maplex...
