Hello!

When I change the number of classes I have in a layer, the symbol squares change from solid color to hatched fill. Has anyone else had this happen? Do you have any ideas why it happens? It doesn't happen every time I do it, but more than half.

I can go change it back if I click on each individual symbol square, go to Format Polygon Symbol, and switch it back from hatched to solid. But why??

I do environmental analysis, so my projects can include many, many layers of graduated symbology that I have to tailor each time for optimal visualization. When this random change happens, I have to change each class in each layer to go back to solid fill.

Thank you!

Could be a glitch/bug

Whenever I see general strangeness, like this, I recommend doing a soft factory reset to restore core ArcGIS Pro functionality.  You can find the details on how to do this here.

Thanks, Robert. I just downloaded Pro onto a new laptop yesterday. It did it on my old one too.

Thank you for the response.  I believe I've found the reason this occurs - there's an FAQ document here that explains the why's.
