Selecting polygons outside of buffer area

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a project where I created a 1.5km buffer around a feature, but would only like to include census tract polygons outside of this buffer. Is there an easier way to select these polygons than the Select tool? Or another tool that can be used to do the analysis?

Edit: The question I'm essentially trying to answer is what census blocks are located further than a 1.5km distance from the feature of interest.

but... do the selection based on those within the 1.5 km buffer... then switch the selection in the table
