scale symbols to a reference scale set default

i work with plans that consist a lot of layers.

each time i upload a layer the box of scale symbols to a reference scale set  which is at the display tab at the properties is checked. it is time consuming to remove the checked box so that the symbols will appear normally at the layout as it might take a few seconds up to half a minute for the project to update the change.

is there a way to make the box default to be unchecked?

There is no way - yet there should be. 

Common Esri, this can't be hard to do. It is a pain when you have to repeat that step for every single layer in every single project, you're working in. Let us turn that setting off by default.
