Hi, everyone,

I have a big txt point data, it is 1.3G. also it is Lat and Long (D-M-S).

what's the right way to bring in arcgis and convert to UTM data?

I try to use them in civil 3d. thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Regards,

Jerrie

Was decimal degrees an option? rather than DMS?

There is....

Convert Coordinate Notation (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

but I haven't used it or know if your input data format can be used

Hi, Dan,

Please don't retired. 😉 thanks for the tips. I can put the data in, but seems something is off. the output points are in one spot. any ideas?

Could be something is wrong with the data or there are multiple points at one location.  I would toggle on the last checkbox to exclude locations with improper notation

thanks, Dan,

I think it is the format GIS doesn't like, seems like it only recognize the first couple digits, so end up tons of points in one spot. If i toggle that checkbox, nothing got imported.
