I quickly searched to see if there was anything already asked about this, but don't see anything.  I am running ArcPro 3.6 and was curious if there are plans to change the save/discard edits so you can choose what layers to save/discard in an editing session.  Many times I find I may have accidentally edited a layer I didn't want to edit, and I have to discard all of my edits, even though I know the ones in the layer I meant to edit were correct.  If we could have a check box to check the layers we want to save when there are multiple layers in the save edits dialog box, it would keep from having to redo everything.  I don't like to use autosave on edits in case I need to undo something.  It would also keep me from realizing that I edited something I should've have.

In ArcGIS Pro 3.6, Save Edits and Discard Edits apply to all edits made since the last save—there isn’t a built-in option to pick specific layers to save/discard. The dialog can only show where edits exist (click Show edits and review the Layers or Source tab), but it’s not a selectable checklist.

You could author an ArcGIS Pro Idea for this item so it gets some visibility with the ArcGIS Pro development team.

Thank you Robert.  I was gong to add it to the Ideas, just didn't know if it was potentially coming in 3.7 or in the works.

You're welcome Michele - ArcGIS Pro 3.7 is already out/public - the team is working on 3.8 now.

@Michele FYI here are a few suggestions that might prevent unwanted edits:

  • To protect newly added layers from being edited, turn off the option to 'Make newly added layers editable by default'
  • Set your Editing session options to Single Workspace to only allow editing of the specified workspace when enabling editing.
