Hello, I'm trying to use the "Merge Layers" function to merge two point layers (both are .xlsx tables that I've geocoded--using the same data fields for both. The tool doesn't work, and generates the following error:

Unable to get geoanalytics URL.

Failed script Merge Layers...

Failed to execute (MergeLayers).

When I google this error, I see that it could be caused by my "geoanalytic server" being misconfigured. How do I check on that?

Thanks.  I saw that, but I didn't know what it mean.

So...there's now no way to merge two point feature sets?  At least, there's no way that I can find.

And I get the error message with the Merge Layers tool.

Sigh...this worked so well last year.  WHY DOES ESRI MAKE THIS SO COMPLICATED????

If the source layers are not featureclasses in a locally stored file geodatabase, convert them to that.  You mention xlsx files, as event themes, I assume.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who tried to help.

When I looked at the layer into which I wanted to merge the new data, I found there was a lot wrong with it.  An entire year was missing, an entire county's worth of projects were missing.  So...I redid the layer, adding the missing year, and correcting/rematching addresses that didn't geocode.  This solves my problem for this year.  Who knows what will happen next year!
